My name is Gary Wolff. I’m an expert, not a politician.
I will use my 40 years of experience as a water resources engineer and economist to make EBMUD work better for us. (EBMUD is the East Bay Municipal Utility District -- OUR water supplier.)
Water bills are rising steeply. Thirty three and 1/2 percent (33.5%) since 2023; with a staff projection that they will be up 67% by 2030. And as climate changes, our water quality goes down. I have the skill and experience to serve the community by addressing these challenges and others.
I pledge that as your Ward 7 Board Member, I will:
- Keep Water Affordable
- Protect Water Quality
- Competently and Effectively Help With Water Issues that Affect Your Life
Some issues that I’ve been asked to help with are: holding rates down by getting more revenue from solar, wind, and hydro-electricity sales; keeping parks and schools green during drought; reducing your bills by helping you use water more efficiently or more than once (water recycling); improving and expanding the low-income customer assistance program; fire safety; reducing utility-related truck traffic and other disruptions in our streets. Please add to the list !
I’ve served you before as the Vice Chair of the California State Water Resources Control Board, the Executive Director of Alameda County’s StopWaste, the Board Chair of San Francisco Baykeeper, and as a member of the Castro Valley Sanitary District Community Advisory Committee. I learned through this service how to solve real-world problems by building relationships with elected officials, chief executives and staff, labor unions, businesses, environmental organizations, and community members. That’s why so many community leaders, elected officials, and organizations have endorsed me.
I’m asking for your support in the November 3, 2026 election.
Please vote Wolff4Water !
Thank you.
