East Bay Municipal Utility District provides drinking water to 1.4 million East Bay customers. The Board of Directors has seven members elected to four-year terms by voters from each geographical ward.

Ward 7 includes Castro Valley, portions of San Ramon, San Lorenzo, San Leandro, and Hayward, and the unincorporated communities of Ashland, Cherryland and Fairview.
